On August 18, 2026, Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda toured the new Bosch Home Comfort plant in Ciénega de Flores, which represents an investment of US$300 million and employs more than 900 people.

The facility belongs to the German group's air conditioning and climate solutions division. That same day, Bosch México opened the division's new corporate offices in San Pedro Garza García.

The visit was attended by Paul Thomas, President of Bosch North America and Mobility Americas; Alexander Firsching, President of Bosch México; Betsabé Rocha, Nuevo León's Secretary of Economy, and Emmanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Investment, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence.

The headline is the structure, not the number

Bosch is no longer a single plant in Nuevo León. It now runs three separate businesses in the state:

  • Industrial Technology (Rexroth), in Santa Catarina, present since 2007 in hydraulics and automation.
  • Consumer Goods (BSH), home appliances, in Salinas Victoria. Three years ago the group announced it as its largest plant in Mexico.
  • Air conditioning solutions (BHC), the one now opening in Ciénega de Flores.

Engineering, sales and service activities sit on top of that footprint. The company marks 20 years in Nuevo León and 70 in Mexico.

"We have been in Monterrey for 20 years and in Mexico for 70, and we need to make up 50 years with faster growth in the years ahead," said Alexander Firsching, President of Bosch México.

A company running three divisions in one state is not explained by a single incentive. It is explained by supplier base, talent and logistics that serve very different lines of business.

Bosch is not landing in empty ground

Invest Nuevo León's company census already records ten climate equipment and component manufacturers in the metropolitan area, among them Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Johnson Controls, Friedrich and Morrison Products, plus automotive climate suppliers such as Denso, Hanon Systems, Bergstrom and Eberspächer.

In other words, the Ciénega de Flores plant does not open a sector: it joins one the state had been building for years. For a supplier that difference is everything, because it means demand for molds, sheet metal, heat exchangers, motors, packaging and technical service already exists, and is now growing.

Where it is, and why there

Ciénega de Flores sits in the northern corridor, along the axis toward the border. The largest LEGO Group plant in the world operates in that same municipality, and the state catalog records fourteen industrial parks there.

It is the pattern the corridor keeps repeating: precision and consumer manufacturing that needs proximity to the border without paying the cost of sitting inside the urban core.

What this means for suppliers

During the visit, the Governor announced that the Home Appliance Cluster's business meeting, ENCLELAC 2026, would take place at Cintermex with sourcing opportunities for local companies.

"We will have a US$3 billion pool for local sourcing, for companies like Bosch that trust Nuevo León," the Governor said.

That same day, the State Government reported that ITW announced a US$39 million investment and 550 jobs for Nuevo León.
